S. Jonathan Lindsay,

who challenges Autism, expresses himself by painting portraits and furniture. His artistic style is classified as Americana. He attends the Enrichment Center, an arts-based workshop for adults with disabilities. He participates in Special Olympics in bowling. He also plays the piano and drums in The Enrichment Center’s Percussions Ensemble.

Adam D. Lefevre,

who challenges Sturge-Weber Syndrome, enjoys painting on canvas and furniture. Painting things that interest him. His artistic style is classified as abstract, layering paints until images appear. He also attends the Enrichment Center. He participates in Special Olympics in track and field and basketball. He enjoys singing, acting and dabbles in spoken word. He also plays the drums in The Enrichment Center’s Percussions ensemble.

The unique styles of these two gentlemen have changed the face of art in Winston-Salem. Their art is currently on display at Krankies Coffee Shop, Indigo Hotel, and the Gateway Gallery. They have had showings at both Camino Bakeries, Red Dog Gallery, Delurk Gallery, Milton Rhodes Gallery as well as The International Furniture Market. These gentlemen are perfect examples of not allowing your disability to define your ability. Winston Salem artist, Laura Lashley, saw the potential with Jonathan and Adam when they were her students at The Enrichment Center. After leaving the Enrichment Center, Laura has mentored them at her studio, The Electric Pyramid. She actively promotes and sells their art to local galleries and interested individuals. Assisting with mentorship and promotion is artist, Stacey Sword-Halsey. She has helped with promotion and locating additional places for their artwork to be on display.
